Minimalism and Bar Stools: Where do they meet?

What is minimalist design? And how do bar stools slide into this? Well for starters minimalist design is the art of nothing pretty much, beautiful homes with just a smattering of objects all laid out meticulously around the place; "paintings" that are pretty much just black canvases placed centrally on a large white wall, A collection of pebbles piled up nicely on a fireplace mantle, square glasses and neutral colours. It's basically no clutter, and that's where bar stools come in.

Bar Stools come in many shapes and sizes, some more modern and futuristic and others bringing back traditional styles and designs. Those more classical and traditional stools are packed full of little artistic flairs and the such, whereas more modern stools rely on sleek and steady lines much more in line with the minimalist look.

So what stools do we supply that fit this quota? Well actually more than you'd think; as such we've put together this little list to bring some of these stools into the limelight and give them the airtime they deserve.

First up on our list we have our brand new Mela range of bar stools, if it's minimalism you're looking for then this is a brilliant place to start. We recommend either the Black or White variants of this stool if you're going for true minimalism, however we also stock this stool in a plethora of beautiful colours (YellowCreamGreyBlueGreen) which fit the bill equally well. The legs are comprised of natural wood which leaves you with a strong, fixed height base of operations; moving up the stool we get to the brilliant seat top: A single piece of formed polypropylene, a strong plastic that allows for great comfort and lengthy seating sessions without losing its form. Truly it is an instant classic.

Following closely behind the Mela stools is the Equator line of bar stools. These simply amazing bar stools follow a similar design trend to the Mela stools; both in style and colours (WhiteGreyBlackCreamGreen). They both opt for strong natural wooden legs and the seat tops are both made from durable polypropylene plastics, however there are a few main differences between the two stools: the Equator stool's seat is wider and shorter, providing support to the lower back and giving you a larger area to sit on. The footrest on the Equator opts for the more contrasting look, with it being made from metal rather than natural wood, this offers a stunning look that intends to make you double take, giving the stool more limelight in your home.

Finally on our list we have the Sedia bar stool range; this stunning range of bar stools opts for the cross legs design, all meeting at a central point on the underside of the seat top. Available in White and Grey this stool features a high backrest and cushioned seat top, pushing the level of comfort beyond all expectations. The beautiful natural wooden legs return to the more uniform wooden foot rests, however the Sedia opts for a more uneven approach with the footrests being on different levels, creating a unique look with common materials. The seat top is made from the same polypropylene plastics as the other stools featured in this list, however the smooth curves and calm rounded edges mix well with the colour palette to produce a very serene atmosphere, perfect for relaxation.

So there we have three brilliantly minimalistic stool, all with their own unique stylings.
